How much can $5.00 buy you now a days? A meal at McDonald's, an ice-cream cone from Chick-fil-A for the whole family, a subway sandwich, a Tall Frappuccino from Starbucks, or a pizza from Little Caesars. Well there is always tax but you get the picture. We have a challenge for anyone that is up for it. Are you ready? It's kinda crazy. Well here it goes. We wanted to challenge you to give $5.00 towards Jacob's Ladder Foundation so that we can continue to help families that are in this journey with their children. Yep, you heard it right just $5.00. For the next 30 days our goal is to see how many will join us in our mission. You see it is so easy to "like", to agree, to share, to acknowledge, to tag, but to actually do something about it? That is far greater than any of those things. That is what truly matters. We know that everyone has struggles of their own but to be able to help others amidst their own struggles..... that's when it can become a challenge. Or can it? I know that it can be a challenge but it can be done. We have that challenge every single day. Like any of you that have experienced a huge loss in your life, it takes a toll on you and sometimes you don't want to help anyone else. You don't want to get up in the morning, talk to anyone, or even pray for others. But you see, we know that we have a choice. We can either stay locked up and do nothing or we can "face the roaring lion", as Levy Lusko says, and push through and help others that are walking through this difficult journey that we once walked.
Jacob was a great example of that.
He had his own challenges within his fight against cancer and yet he prayed for others. I'm not sure how many of you have heard this story but while we were at the clinic one day, he learned about a younger girl that was tired of fighting. She had literally given up. She didn't want to get anymore treatments or take any more medicine knowing that she needed them to continue to live. He grabbed his phone and decided to text our Pastor asking him to pray for this young lady. He texted him saying he thought she needed more prayer than he did. If that's not an example of helping others no matter what you are going through, I don't know what is.
Today we had the privilege of helping a family in need. Through Jacob's Ladder Foundation, we were able to do that. You were able to do that. We met the family and encouraged them to continue and to never lose hope. To keep on fighting!
So exactly what is the challenge you may be asking. The challenge is simple. Go to www.jacobsladderfoundation.org and click on the "Donate" button from the home page. Donate $5.00 so that we may continue to help families and be able to meet the needs that they may have. Can you imagine how much can be raised if everyone that was reached through this post gave just $5.00! The results would be phenomenal! It's not about just giving $5.00 but its about making a difference. As one of the quotes that Jacob liked said " If you want to go fast go alone ,if you want to go far go together"-unknown. So take this 30 day challenge and believe in our vision and join our mission!
